We have begun our adoption homestudy and have had a couple of visits to date. We had our first, and possibly last, home visit earlier this week. That visit went very well. Our caseworker, Caitlin, is amazing and she is with AGAPE in Montgomery, AL. Our international adoption agency is unable to do our homestudy due to the fact that they are located in Washington state. AGAPE was recommended by friends who have also used our international agency, All God’s Children International. We also had an in-office visit this week with Caitlin which went very well. She has spoken with us and our children about past history and other things and we are glad to see things moving along. We have not had any red flags go up at this time.
We are still collecting documentation for our dossier which will be compiled, translated, and sent to the China Center of Children’s Welfare. These documents will require certification at the state and county level which will take some time and coordination as some of our documents are from my employer based out of San Francisco and others are from out of state as well. We have a few notaries who are assisting us in ensuring all of our documentation is properly signed and authenticated. So, things are moving along well. Once again, we appreciate the support from all of you in this process. Your continued prayers and support are greatly appreciated.
